About
Hui Wang is a final-year PhD candidate in Transport Geography at The University of Hong Kong. He received his M.Eng. in Transport Engineering from Tongji University (2022) and B.Eng. in Railway Transport Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University (2019).
🔬 His academic training encompasses both engineering and social sciences. His research focuses on sustainable and people-centered urban transport 🌆, exploring how transport systems, services, and urban environments can be better planned and designed to improve mobility, accessibility, efficiency, and wellbeing.
📄 His work has been published in journals such as Transportation Research Part A, Journal of Transport Geography, Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology, and Transport Reviews. 🏆 He has received awards including the HKU Research Postgraduate Student Innovation Award (2026), First Prize in the INFORMS Rail Applications Section Problem Solving Competition (2020), and the China National Scholarship.
